Heritage Trust

For over 20 years the many friends of St Lawrence, Chobham, and St Saviour, Valley End, have been raising funds for the care of these two beautiful churches.

Without the generosity of the St Lawrence Friends’ Heritage Trust, many jobs might still be waiting  - decoration, all sorts of refurbishment, a new boiler and numerous repairs.  A substantial, recently-completed project was fundraising for repairs to the church tower at St Lawrence. More than £85,000 was raised.

On Palm Sunday 2018, the Heritage Trust handed our Vicar Revd Chris Bessant a cheque for £85,684.  In addition, in 2017 the Heritage Trust made a contribution to the cost of repairs to the belfry of St Saviour church, a £60,000 project.

The Trust works by organising social events throughout the year, and you can find out what is coming along on the Heritage Trust website, or even become one of the Friends.

There is a very detailed history of Chobham on the British History Online website, which you can find here.
