Guildford is Surrey’s cathedral, the mother church of the Guildford Diocese and a gathering place for people of all ages and from all walks of life.
It hosts culltural and community events as well as the daily services of choral worship.
The cathedral, at Stag Hill was consecrated in 1961.
It is truly a “people’s cathedral” because a substantial part of the funds to complete
its construction was raised from a 2s 6d (12½p) appeal, supported by thousands of
\ajor renovation at the cathedral, including work to its ceiling and roof space and to the organ, is ensuring it is equipped to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
